Christmas 2019 Services

In just a few weeks we’ll be celebrating Christmas again.  As a church we love Christmas because it’s an opportunity to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Saviour who is central to the Christian faith.

On Sunday 15th December, instead of our evening service we will be going out to sing carols around the old Corringham area. We do this each year, alternating our route, in order to sing about the Christmas message and give out leaflets about our Christmas services. If you do see us out and about then please give us a wave and stop to listen; don’t worry though, we don’t collect money so you needn’t avoid us! We spend some time praying (at 5.00pm) before going out carol singing at 5.30pm.

On the morning of Sunday 22nd December (11.00am) we will hold our Christmas Family Service, involving our TJC (The Junior Church). TJC will sing some songs and take part in Christmas-themed activities and although they can be shy they appreciate it when lots of people come along to watch them.

On the evening of Sunday 22nd December (6.30pm) we will hold our annual Carols by Candlelight service. The service will be more traditional this year, with lots of carols and readings. To make the evening even more appealing it will be followed by mince pies and sausage rolls to which everyone is invited to stay and enjoy.

The final service of note is on Christmas day (Wednesday 25th December) at 10.00am. This is a chance to join together and spend 45 minutes at the start of the day focusing on the very point of Christmas. Many people find it useful to spend some time singing, praying and reading the Bible before a day of festive busyness begins, and we would encourage you to join us.

Hopefully one or more of our services appeal to you and you will be able to join us. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kids’ Zone is this Saturday – lots of Christmas crafts

It’s our annual Kids’ Zone on Saturday (30th November) from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

If you’re in primary school then why not come and join us for an afternoon of craft at Kids’ Zone?

We’ll be preparing lots of exciting gifts that you can give to others for Christmas. We promise it’ll be bags of fun!

Parents can drop off children at 2.30pm, collecting from 4.30pm, with tea and coffee available while your children finish their crafts.

There’s no charge and the event takes place in the church hall.

If you’d like more information then please contact us.

Who Let The Dads Out?

Who Let The Dads Out? is a free group for Dads (or any other male carer) to spend quality time with their kids and meet other dads with bacon butties and coffee, plus give Mum some time off! Play and craft for 0-6’s. First Saturday of each month from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Following and Fishing

Jesus promised us that if we’ll follow him, he will teach us to fish for people.

Has anyone ever taught you: How to connect with people? How to share your story? How to share God’s story, the gospel? How to invite someone to read the Bible with you and discover Jesus for themselves?

Following and Fishing will equip you to make disciples among people who are far from God, using simple, reproducing methods.

We run this training in many different settings, and wherever people implement we hear stories of people coming to faith in Jesus and learning to follow him in discipleship.

  • Catch a vision for multiplying disciples;
  • Identify your relational world;
  • Connect with people far from God;
  • Share your story;
  • Share God’s story, the gospel;
  • Find the people in whom God is already working;
  • Lead people to Jesus through Discovery Bible Study;
  • Train new disciples to follow and obey Christ through Discovery Bible Study.

Friends & Family Sunday

On Sunday 8 September we are holding our first Friends & Family Sunday! As part of the day we will be holding a Family Service at 11.00am (suitable for all ages) followed by refreshments, a free BBQ, and crafts and games for children.

Everyone is welcome to join us and there is no need to book.

We hope to see you there!

Wonderfully Made

You’ll need no convincing that your children are wonderfully made. But there are a whole heap of challenges that come with caring for young children—tiredness, loneliness, boredom and relationship stress, to name a few.

Wonderfully Made is a short burst of encouragement for you as you face life with little ones. We’ll be stimulated to share the burdens and joys of parenting with others, and to support one another in the important job of caring for, and raising, small children.

And as you think about how to survive and thrive, you’ll be introduced to some bigger questions about God and life.

The course is free and we’ll provide refreshments and all of the course materials. We hope you can join us!

The next 7-week course begins at 7.30pm on Thursday 6th June 2019 at Corringham Evangelical Church.

To book a place on the course please contact Hollie by completing the form below or popping a note into the church letterbox at 45 Fobbing Road, Corringham, Essex, SS17 9BN.
