Restarting Sunday Church Services

The Oversight are pleased to be able to provide details of our Sunday services during Covid-19 and how to access them.

We have made a number of changes and you are asked to read the guidance notes linked to below before you book a place.  The instructions are a couple of pages long but should provide all of the information that you need. Along with the instructions, the church’s risk assessment and a floorplan are attached for your reference. Please note that not all seats will be utilised within the floorplan – appropriate seats will be blocked off depending on who books to attend each week.

You will be required to book attendance for yourself (and your family group, if required) as space is limited.  While it will not be possible for all of the church congregation to attend each week, we would encourage you to book places for when you are able to attend bearing in mind the needs of others.  We estimate that everyone should be able to attend once or twice during September.

In order to book, please send a message to Dave Partridge on his mobile number or through the Contact Form. Bookings must be made by 7.00pm on the day before the service at the latest.  When contacting Dave, please let him know how many people are attending and the date(s) you are booking for and he will confirm your booking.

We look forward to meeting together again!

Coronavirus COVID-19 – updated 11 August 2020

Having met by Zoom recently, the Oversight have now come to the decision that for the four Sundays in September we will hold a short morning service on the church premises.

There will be restricted numbers able to attend the service (which will be bookable in advance), and we will live stream it for those not able to be there in person.

Full details will be issued nearer the time, once we have worked out all the practicalities.

All other meetings will remain on Zoom for the time being and we will also look at reintroducing some form of children’s work as soon as we can.

Please contact us if you require further information on these or assistance with how to access them, either by Zoom or by telephone. We would encourage to you to join these meetings if you are able.

If you would like one of the Oversight to come and pray with you in your own home, please contact us and we will be pleased to arrange this.

We sincerely hope that you and your families remain well and we look forward to being able to welcome you back as soon as it is safe to do so.

Christmas 2019 Services

In just a few weeks we’ll be celebrating Christmas again.  As a church we love Christmas because it’s an opportunity to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Saviour who is central to the Christian faith.

On Sunday 15th December, instead of our evening service we will be going out to sing carols around the old Corringham area. We do this each year, alternating our route, in order to sing about the Christmas message and give out leaflets about our Christmas services. If you do see us out and about then please give us a wave and stop to listen; don’t worry though, we don’t collect money so you needn’t avoid us! We spend some time praying (at 5.00pm) before going out carol singing at 5.30pm.

On the morning of Sunday 22nd December (11.00am) we will hold our Christmas Family Service, involving our TJC (The Junior Church). TJC will sing some songs and take part in Christmas-themed activities and although they can be shy they appreciate it when lots of people come along to watch them.

On the evening of Sunday 22nd December (6.30pm) we will hold our annual Carols by Candlelight service. The service will be more traditional this year, with lots of carols and readings. To make the evening even more appealing it will be followed by mince pies and sausage rolls to which everyone is invited to stay and enjoy.

The final service of note is on Christmas day (Wednesday 25th December) at 10.00am. This is a chance to join together and spend 45 minutes at the start of the day focusing on the very point of Christmas. Many people find it useful to spend some time singing, praying and reading the Bible before a day of festive busyness begins, and we would encourage you to join us.

Hopefully one or more of our services appeal to you and you will be able to join us. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kids’ Zone is this Saturday – lots of Christmas crafts

It’s our annual Kids’ Zone on Saturday (30th November) from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

We’ll be preparing lots of exciting gifts that you can give to others for Christmas. We promise it’ll be bags of fun!

Parents can drop off children at 2.30pm, collecting from 4.30pm, with tea and coffee available while your children finish their crafts.

There’s no charge and the event takes place in the church hall.
